MEET RUFUS TEAGUE

What started as passion for backyard cookouts led to awards at national BBQ competitions, and eventually quest to produce the best in Kansas City barbecue.  Established in 2004, Rufus Teague now produces full line of competitiontested, awardwinning sauces and rubs that are distributed nationwide and internationally for retail and food service.  Rufus insists each product be made with the finest ingredients and be as healthy and delicious as each bottle can hold.  Products are proudly NonGMO verified and GlutenFree.  Why?  Because Rufus always knew, “Good sauce makes bad barbecue good and good barbecue gooder.”

MEATS ON STICKS

INGREDIENTS

  • 12 lbs of any/all of the following meats cut into either strips or 1 ½” cubes.

Steak (strip, filet, ribeye, sirloin, flank, etc)

Chicken (boneless breast or thigh)

Pork Tenderloin

Shrimp (leave whole. Peeled and deviened

  • Olive Oil 1½ Tbsp per pound of meat
  • Rufus Teague Meat Rub
  • Boulevard/Rufus CanOQue BBQ Sauce
  • Gallon ZipLock Bags (One for each type of meat)
  • Bamboo Skewers or metal skewers

 

 

  1. Cut up whatever meat(s) you decide to serve. Typically small strips for beef, cubes for chicken or pork, and leave shrimp whole.
  2. In a gallon bag add 1½ Tbsp of oil per pound of meat. (limit to 2 lbs per bag)
  3. Add 1 ½ tsp of Rufus Teague Meat Rub to oil and mix thoroughly in bag.
  4. Add single type of meat to bag. Zip top and mix all so that seasoning and oil cover evenly.
  5. Place in refrigerator or cooler for up to 10 hours before cooking.
  1. Fire up grill to medium high heat.
  2.  Skewer meats keeping only one type on each skewer.
  3. Place skewers on grill.
  4. Half way through the cook, pop open a CanOQue and pour and/or brush on. Flip and repeat until nice and caramelized.(Shrimp will cook fastest, then steak, then pork and make sure chicken hits 165 degrees)
  5. Remove to platter and add a little more CanOQue BBQ Sauce if you wish.
  6. Grab a Boulevard Unfiltered Wheat and a stick full of meat. Let the highfiving begin!
